Advance Firefighting and Damage Control

Recently, Been too busy with my course work and this week currently I'm attending the advance fire-fighting at Civil Defence Acadmy. It is a 3 day course but during this 3 days, it can consider a hardship for me as I need to wear the BA set and go through the Maze whereby it was totally dark and they simulate smoke inside the compartment. My buddy and I have to go through it and it is much tough than 3 years ago I went through the Basic Firefighting.

Beside that, we also gone through the flashover which we are keep inside the container and fire was set. We got to wait till the fire rises up to our top and from there we need to keep ourselves low and spray water to suppress the flames and smoke. It was really unbearable. Really the temperature was damn hot...sweat.

However, on the last day . It was our assessment and we have to fight fire that the instructors have create certain scene of fire and save casualities and I almost faint coz my cyclinder almost used up. From 300 bar till 100 bar of pressure. However, it was conducted at the funace where by it is a buliding that they training real firemen and the building consists alot of compartment, like HDB flat, shop, carpark...etc. Although, it was tough, but the most tough is their ship simulator. It was built due to requirements and that is our last assessment of the day and went through it...everyone was total wet and all of us face were totally tired. However, it is great fun that retrain myself.

After going through the firefighting course, the next 2 day is on damage control. It is conducted as mostly we need to save our own ship if there is a damage and require to control it. This prevent flooding inside the compartment and sinking the ship. Netherless, we still get wet and i really afraid of the coming monday on the assessment coz everyone have to be scene I/C and have to assess the situtation. I dunno whether i can make it or not...so all i have to do is pray that God can give me the knowledge and a calm mind to make right decision and pass this assessment. If not, i going to retake the assessment again...
