Coach Carter

Well, today after all the fun of geocaching...I decided to watch some DVDs as brought quite afew from JB. Heehee...anyway...decided to watch this movie : Coach Carter

This movie really hit me hard xia. I found it quite meaningful coz the coach force his high-school students basketball players to sign conditional contract which they have to maintain a certain standard of academic results in order for them to continue to play basketball. Beside of this he also have lotsa of different types of training for the players.

But wat really hit me hard is he keep asking his players this sentence : what's your deepest fear?

I cannot understand why...but until a big huha which he suspends all his players to play game as some of his players didn't attain their academic result and the community disagree his style and wants him to let the students to continue to play basketball as they won streaks of games this seasons. Eventually, it was brought to school judgement as votings have been used to force him to let the students to play the game and practice.

But to those student they make a promise...one of them answer him the question that he kept asking them.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. ...Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightening about shrinking, so that other people won't feel insecure around you... As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others"

This really hit me...we sometimes dun realise how powerful we are and keep thinking things that we can't and become our fear eventually. So now i have to be more powerful and i will not fear anything as i will bring light to others and liberated fear from others.

P.S Good movie to catch...
